April is National Credit Union Youth Month & National Financial Literacy Month.
Credit Unions take pride in financial education all year, but April provides a special time to focus on teaching youth and young adults the importance of saving and managing money.
First Community is focused on teaching about the importance of finding ways to save money while learning how to approach the financial responsibilities that come with adulthood. We have compiled an assortment of fun tasks to encourage learning, outdoor activities, and creativity. We hope to encourage basic banking tasks, financial literacy awareness, and the importance of saving, all while having fun! Building strong financial habits early is important and we want to encourage learning how to save and spend wisely!
TO ENTER:
See a Branch Representative for a checklist/entry sheet and optional activity sheets. They can also be downloaded from First Community’s Facebook page or below!
Complete a minimum of five (5) activities/tasks. Each activity must be initialed by a Credit Union Representative. Once a minimum of 5 tasks are completed, fill out the section on the back of the checklist and drop it off at your nearest branch. You can also enter by mail by completing five worksheets and mailing them in with the completed information section of the checklist/entry form.
PRIZES:
Ten (10) winners will be chosen randomly to each receive a $25 Visa Gift Card provided by First Community.
RULES:
2026 Youth Month activities and sweepstakes is valid during April 2026. No purchase necessary. A minimum of five activities must be completed to enter. Membership is not required to participate although the suggested ‘Banking Activities’ do require a First Community account/membership. Participants may enter by mail by sending in the entry sheet and 5 completed worksheets. Ten (10) winners will be chosen at random. There will be 5 winners per age group: Rising Stars (Birth through age 12) and GenNOW (age 13 through 18). Winners will be contacted by May 15th, 2026.
