A Year of Love

Following a long-standing tradition, First Community Credit Union asked their employees to donate in honor of various charities throughout the year with the promise of a dress-down day on the first Friday of each month.
Each charity that First Community Credit Union donated to has its own unique message, and we are so glad to have shared the love with the following 12 organizations.

- Five Acres Animal Shelter
- Fit and Food Connection
- Humane Society of Missouri
- Alzheimer’s Association Missouri Chapter
- Greater St. Louis Honor Flight
- Gateway4paws
- Kids Rock Cancer
- Autism Speaks
- Hockey fights Cancer
- Metro East Humane Society
Between employee donations and corporate contributions, First Community donated over $50,000 to local organizations throughout 2022.
Special Occasion
Not only were employees able to donate and dress down on the first Friday of the month. During the week of Thanksgiving, they were given the opportunity to pay for a week-long dress-down. They were also given the opportunity to dress down for the last two weeks of the year for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Thanksgiving Week
The week of thanksgiving, our employees were asked to donate $25 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, our employees raised an amazing $6,000 for the charity. RMHC is currently in the process of building new housing for families in the St. Louis area whose children are undergoing treatment for a serious illness that may live farther than 50 miles from the place of treatment.
The Last Two Weeks of December
What better way to close off the 2022 holiday season than with a two-week-long dress-down? We asked our employees to donate $35 to Friends of Kids with Cancer, and our employees answered the call donating a whopping $10,465 to the organization whose main goal is to allow kids with cancer the ability to be kids even during the worst of their treatment.
If there was anything that First Community Credit Union can take away from 2022, it is that their employees truly care about the surrounding communities and have the drive to help support some of the charities that are helping the St. Louis metro east area become a place filled with more love.
