Overdraft Protection

Overdraft Options for your Credit Union Checking Account

Your credit union will automatically transfer money from your savings account to cover checks or debits when the funds are not available in your checking account. There is a $1 a day fee for transfers to cover check overdrafts (EFT overdrafts are $1.00 per item/no fee to cover debit card transactions).

Also available is an overdraft line of credit to cover your checking transactions. This is a loan subject to credit approval. The current rate for this loan is 12.95 APR%

We also offer Overdraft Privilege (ODP) on qualified accounts. Rather than automatically returning non-sufficient funds items, we will consider payment of your item. You will be charged a fee for each item paid according to this fee schedule, but you'll avoid the merchant fee for a returned item. We are pleased to offer the financial freedom and flexibility that ODP provides, but strongly urge you to use this service with discretion. ODP fees can add up if you do not maintain your account.

**The current rate for a checking line-of-credit is 12.95% APR. ODP charges a fee according to this fee schedule per item paid. If three checks are presented for payment in amounts of: $40.00, $150.00, & $150.00 and your account has available funds in an approved line-of-credit loan, you would end up paying $3.74 in interest if paid off in thirty days. If ODP were used to pay the items, the account would be charged once per item for a total of 3 times the posted ODP fee.
